What Is a Powell Prism?
A Powell prism is a special optical element with an aspheric roof-like surface. When a laser beam passes through the Powell prism, the optical surface expands the beam in one direction and redistributes the light intensity along the generated laser line.
The main purpose of a Powell prism is to create a more uniform laser line for applications where line brightness consistency is important.
