Custom Dove Prisms

Dove prisms are optical prisms used for image rotation and inversion. When a dove prism is rotated around its longitudinal axis, the transmitted image rotates at twice the mechanical rotation angle of the prism. This makes dove prisms useful in image rotation systems, interferometers, laser systems and optical instruments.

Dove prisms are usually used in collimated light and require accurate surface quality and angle control for stable optical performance.

Fused silica is recommended for UV applications and systems requiring excellent thermal stability. BK7 is commonly used for visible imaging systems.
